Free Swimming Sessions for Young People
Young People only FREE swimming sessions are
being organised at pools across West Berkshire
during the school summer holidays. Sessions are
open to any young person aged 8 to 16 resident
in West Berkshire on production of a West
Berkshire card. For the full programme please

West Berkshire Cards are obtainable at
any Council owned leisure centre or library
(note cards will require activation at a leisure
centre). Application forms are available from
all leisure centres, libraries, main council
buildings or by visiting

Cut Films Competition
We are looking for films that are original, fun
and that you really think will help young people
to reject smoking. The deadline for entries is
31st August, so why not take on the challenge as
part of your summer activities? The best film
wins a workshop with a leading UK film director,
equipment for your school or youth club, and
national publicity.

Channel 4's Embarrassing Teen Bodies is
Back!
Are you a teenager and worried about your
health?
Or would you and your group of friends be
interested in taking part in some of the fun
tests and activities we run throughout the show?
If you’re aged between 13-19 years and
interested in learning more about your health or
want advice about a medical issue from one of
our doctors then please contact the Embarrassing

Inspirations Teenage and Young Parents'
Group
The free group meets on Wednesdays between 11am
and 1pm at The Edge in Newbury. All young
parents and carers are welcome to the group. A
variety of toys is available for babies and
young children. Phone 01635 279701 for more

TIC TAC
The Teenage Information Centre Teenage Advice
Clinic runs at John O'Gaunt Community Technology
College in Hungerford. A school nurse and a
youth worker are available on Monday lunch times
in the Youth Centre, to talk about various
topics including smoking, sexual health, stress,
health issues or anything else.

Walk-In Clinics
The Family Planning Clinic provides high quality
contraceptive services and sexual health advice.
The walk-in clinic at West Berkshire Community
Hospital, Thatcham is available on Mondays from
5pm - 7.30pm and Thursdays from 4pm - 6.30pm. No
appointment is needed, but if you'd like more
information phone: 01635 273300.

Street Active will be happening across
West Berkshire for young people 11 and over
during the school holidays. Activities include
Skateboarding, Indoor Climbing, Graffiti Art and
a Electric Guitar Workshop. All activities are
free but many sessions need to be pre-booked.

Family Active will take place on the
weekend of 24th-25th July, the programme
includes Indoor Climbing, Canoeing and a Urban
Music Workshop. These sessions are for young
people and their families. Again all sessions
