The Downland Youth Network seeks to improve access to opportunities for
children and young people in rural communities within West Berkshire. DYN
is a voluntary group that was set up in 2002 by Parish Councillors, Church
representatives and other people based in some of the Downland Villages in West
Berkshire to address the issues of rural social exclusion for children and young
people. Following extensive consultation with children and young people,
DYN identified three areas of need:
- More activities for young people in the rural villages
- Access to transport facilities
- Access to information
DYN has been developing projects in all these three areas since 2003.
